  • M2M Chifco - M2M Chifco MIC

Machine to Machine (M2M) is an integral part of the Internet of Things and refers to technologies that allow machines (or devices) to communicate among each other to collect, analyze, and present valuable information to businesses, as well as individuals. The components of Machine to Machine technology comprises a device, such as sensors, trackers or meters, that relays a captured event through a Network to a software, such as platforms or applications.

Devices, such as sensors, GPS trackers, WIFI AP, and Smart Phones detect events, like motion and location, and changes in their environment, such as CO2 emission, temperature, and humidity, then communicate information through a network to a software. Devices are usually used to monitor and control in businesses, as well as homes.

Networks and connectivity have been evolving with the purpose of accommodating the rising number of connected devises and the rising amount of data being exchanged by these devices through said networks. There are multiple kinds of networks and they are mostly a suite of communication protocols, ranging from Wi-Fi (wireless local area network) to protocols that minimize power and bandwidth consumption, like ZigBee and Z-Wave, to long-range, low-consumption protocols, like SIGFOX or LoRa.

  • M2M Chifco - Z-Wave

Is a wireless communication gateway designed to allow devices to communicate with a reliable low-latency transmission of small data packets for the purposes of Home Automation.

  • M2M Chifco - GPRS GSM

General packet radio service (GPRS) is a packet oriented mobile data service on the 2G and 3G cellular communication system's global system for mobile communications (GSM).

  • M2M Chifco - LoRa

LoRa is a wireless, long-range, wide-area, low power communication protocol built for the Internet of Things.

  • M2M Chifco - ZigBee

Is an open wireless communication standard that allows connected devices to communicate with each other in personal area networks.

Software, such as applications, API s, and web interfaces translate the information relayed by the network into meaningful information that is then rerouted to computers or mobile devices.

M2M Chifco - GPS Tracking and Eco-Driving Application

Elevator Management

This combination of trackers and software helps businesses do predictive maintenance and manage all of their elevators on one platform.

How it works

Fox3 is a free configurable smart tracking/data login device, which emits data to Chifco’s software that converts it into status reports, alerts, messaging, History Modes, etc. This tracker and platform are fully adaptable to user requirements. Similar, to the hardware/software combination that manages car parks and fleets, this technology gives information in real time about the states of the elevators and the patterns of their use.

With an informed business there is no way but up

Predictive maintenance is the first advantage, with which this solution provides elevator companies. The platform can tell you when and why your elevator broke down. Better yet, it can even help you predict when and why the elevator will break down. The collected data about the product use patterns will not only help elevator companies enhance their already existing products and services but will also help them identify new opportunities in terms of products and services. Last but not least, the centralization of the elevators management on one intuitive and easy to use platform that collects and stocks data for the user, will help the company become more efficient and less wasteful of its human resources.

Eco-Driving for a Leading Insurance Company

Chifco’s GPS tracking solution, Fleet Control, helps a major auto-insurance leader offer its client an eco-driving service built on monitoring their driving patterns in real time. This solution is built on a GPS tracking device and a GPRS software.

How it works

The auto-insurance company offers its clients a phone application for Eco-Driving. The GPS of the customer’s phone collects driving and circulation patterns. Then, the GPS forwards the collected data via a GPRS network to Chifco’s platform for the insurance company that translates the data into useful information, leading to increasingly eco-friendly cars and drivers’ behavior.

A flexible, adaptable, and scalable solution that guarantees the insurance company the best management of its fleet and provides its clients with state of the art services

The auto-insurance company’s Eco-Driving solution offers them:

An entirely secure solution to manage their customers’ data.
Fleet tracking both in deferred and real-time.
Geo-fencing, alerts, and events that are easy to configure.
State of the fleet and generated reports.

A platform that is sensitive to the notion of Total Cost of Ownership, and that offers the insurance company the possibility to measure the cost and performance of its fleet and its management: road tax disc management, insurance, maintenance, fines, etc.

Network Testing

Chifco’s Network Testing Android application allows telecom service providers to be on top of their network’s quality and security, and allows them to have a state of the art service without spending too much money. This application is also extremely useful to governmental regulatory agencies, who could test telecom service providers’ networks in real time and through service users.

How it works

The way this network testing application works is the telecom operator, or the telecom regulatory agency choose a panel of telecom service user and ask them to install the application on their phones. The application works in the background, without interfering with the user’s phone, to test the network.

Real-time network testing leads to better service

The Android application that Chifco has developed, scans your network and tests it for you. This solution helps telecom service providers manage their connectivity and their network risks, while becoming more efficient and enhancing their services. This network testing application offers telecom operators and regulatory agency the possibility of:

Real-time network quality testing and generated reports.
Real-time service quality info and generated reports.
This leads to predictive maintenance and enhanced services.

The Panic Button

This is a device that could be used for multiple purposes, including allowing clinics and hospitals to monitor the health state of patients in need of assistance, or to insure the safety of construction site workers for example. The Panic Button, works with our Home Automation box, via Z-Wave, to detect when the person wearing the button (ex. a child) is out of a certain radius within the box, or when a person (ex. an elderly person, or a construction worker) clicks the button for health assistance purposes.

How it works

The Panic Button is a single button remote that connects to Chifco’s Smart Life Box via Z-Wave, which is a wireless, low power, secure network. The Button, when connected to the Box can functions both as a tracker and an emitter. Say you run a clinic and you have a number of patients who are at risk of not being able to ask for help when they need it. With the Panic Button you can know with a simple click in real-time if your patients need assistance. It can also detect when the person wearing the button leaves the reach of the Box’s radius, which is very useful when you need to locate the person in need of assistance.

The Panic Button saves lives, literally

The advantages of such a solution touch on healthcare, security, but most importantly, peace of mind. The concept of the Panic Button is not new per say. However, Chifco has connected it for you to make it more efficient and secure. The Panic Button will allow you to: Keep an eye on any of your patients in need of assistance, or your workers in distress, with a secure, efficient, and low power technology. Keep a record of collected data of the Button wearer’s health state. Being able to locate the wearer of the Panic Button in case they cannot supply you with their own location. Receive an emergency signal in real-time if there is need for assistance.

WIFI Hotspot on Trains

Not only do trains offer their clients better service because of the feedback and information they get from the collected data and marketing services, included in Chifco’s WIFI Hotspot offer, but they can also do better predictive marketing and prepare better promotions. The Hotspot functions on a Wi-Fi AP device and transfers the information to a personalized Chifco platform and can also locate the train besides share its Wi-Fi connection.

How it works

Chifco has installed Wi-Fi APs, which connect to the trains’ local network to provide a hotspot service. The travelers, when using the offered Wi-Fi connection, are rerouted to a captive portal where they have to create an account, or login. The platform includes, of course, a back office, from Chifco’s clients can collect customer data and reports, monitor, and control their connection, with the added bonus of being able to manage their train fleet.

A more informed business makes for better served clients

The advantages from this product are numerous and stem from collected data and access to network security. The WIFI Hotspot allows our client to have: The possibility to manage their train fleet as the Wi-Fi AP device can also act as a tracker. Enhanced and improved service built on customer feedback in real-time. Predictive Marketing built on a mix of reporting on collected data and customer feedback. Network security stemming from our devices being able to scan the networks, to which they are connected, for malware and phishing attacks.
